Planet Parade 2025 (Nur to 8th)
Dear Parents,
Planet Parade 2025
A breathtaking celestial event is set to occur on February 28, 2025, when all seven planets of our solar
system align in a phenomenon known as the planetary parade. This rare alignment will not happen again
until 2040, making it a once-in-a-lifetime experience for skywatchers and astronomers alike.
Key Highlights:
* Date: February 28, 2025
* Planets Visible to the Naked Eye: Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn
* Planets Requiring a Telescope: Neptune, Uranus
What Makes This Event Special?
Though planets always follow a path along the ecliptic, they are rarely positioned so closely in the sky at the
same time. As they orbit the Sun at different speeds, their positions constantly change. This rare alignment offers a unique and spectacular view of multiple planets together in the night sky.
Best Time to Watch the Alignment
The ideal time to observe this planetary parade is approximately 45 minutes after sunset. Here’s where to
find each planet:
* Venus – Brightly visible in the western sky just after sunset.
* Mars – High in the southern sky, remaining visible into early March.
* Jupiter – A bright object shining in the southwest.
* Uranus – Located below the Pleiades star cluster, possibly visible to the naked eye in dark areas.
* Saturn – Close to the Sun, making it faint and difficult to see.
* Neptune – Requires a telescope for proper viewing.
* Mercury – Briefly appears in the west-southwest before setting.
Stargazing apps and telescopes can enhance visibility, especially for Neptune and Uranus.
Warmly,
Principal
